You might check CPU, RAM and HDD usage, along with page file and cacheing.

Also your computer could be too old to home host. Possibly If you are using "Booster" It will add CPU usage to your computer alot.

Wow, Is that the best you can do? I'm pretty sure you haven't been hosting for many years? I've been hosting a few months after Half-Life came out.

http://gigabyteservers.com

+7 years hosting

2 of which are with my company GBS.

So stfu, you have no fucking clue what your talking about. If you have been hosting since half life came out than you would know that the fastest thing around at that time was a pentium 3 1.2 GHZ. So slow down before your brain over heats.

No, idiot, you have no idea what you are talking about..

Do you think home-hosting computers sit there and do nothing and idle on a computer especially made for hosting servers? No, his CPU is jammed at 80-99% just for the game he is playing obviously.. Then again you see a huge CPU spike for HLDS with mapchange (Trying to push it out ASAP most likely) Among other things 'pure hosting' computers have.

Also, computers with 256mb of RAM and down usually have problems changing maps where users get disconnected, usually only when their playing but if you try around under 128, it does it without playing without alot of optimizations.. Or just a skim OS with no extras (Like a fresh installation of linux -- just the kernel and XORG (And other requirements)

You can fix this by right clicking the process and changing the priority to high+, your game may drop a few FPS.. Although it may make mapchanges better.

I hope all of their employees arn't as immature and as stupid as you. Analyze all of the variables into your problems...

karma++ to DahVid and Realitive (why is your karma so low Real? We need some good sarcasm around here)

Anyways you're right and wrong DahVid. Back in the days of WON and CS beta you really didn't need any decent PC to play or host a server. CS was made in the days that a p2 400 is equivalent to these days' Athlon FX.

I played at a LAN party with a bunch of idiots that managed to make a p2 333 to host 24 people with no problems, back in the days of CS 1.3 (ahh the nostalgia...)
