The players who doesn't have custom campaigns will get disconnected.

To avoid player disconnecting, you can instruct them to use the GFCScape Tool.
Itīs very simple and works fine.

Umm, GCFScape is a tool that allows you to extract files from the .pak files that l4d2 campaigns use.
As for the original question, you cannot force clients to download files from
a l4d2 server, so using a custom campaign seems like a bad idea, because only players who have the campaign previously installed will be able to connect. Don't blame it on SM, blame it on Valve for making the update that disallows client-server downloading.

If you have the players in your steamgroup, they can see the current map in the main screen of the game (shown as addon) and the link to download.
If you donīt want problems with possible diferent versions, upload the vpk to any host, and edit missions.txt with this link.
Works fine for my servers

And yes, you can force missions change with this plugin, but as I said before, you will need to extract the vpk file and upload the files to your server.

I don't think you understand what this plugin does. That's a plugin which can change the map. L4D2 Server hosting is plainly put like this:
- Clients CANNOT connect to a server running a custom map, without having it installed prior.
There is no file-downloading support for L4D2 Zbeer.

Well Gecko. I understand what the plugins does and very well.
In fact, I use it in my two servers AND with custom maps.

About downloading maps, let me be more clear.

If a user try to connect your server and he has not the map, he will be disconnected.
Ok, I agree. There is no automatic downloading for the custom map and the user must have download it before.

However... if the player has not the custom map, you can edit the mssions.txt (server) file that belongs to the custom map, and tell him where download it.

Example (missions.txt):

// Website is extremely important as people will automatically be sent
// to this URL if they try to join a friend running your campaign. This
// should be the home page for your campaign and it should provide a
// description, a link to download it, and installation instructions.
"Website" "whatever you want"

And answering again the first post of this topic:
Yes, Force Mission Change can rotate custom maps and if you want that your players don't get disconnected even if the map is already installed, instruct them to extract the maps with GFCSCape on local PC.
