i already had a way to allow players to take damage, also if you export your fixed player bones to a separate smd file you can just import it into any new vehicles you make and tweak it instead of starting from scratch.

i've uploaded a new version. i need people to test in tf2 and dods if it works. also if anyone can let me know if the vehicles still control players views, their view might flicker which is fine.

Good work. It looks more stable now.

Issues:
When I spawn one it lands on top of my head crushing me
I cannot drive any buggy. I can get in one but I cannot move.

Im running a synergy server on windows xp.

nooooo, thats just takes the piss, if you can't drive the vehicle that means it probably won't work in tf2 or dods either. from what i can tell the vehicle doesn't seem to accept user key presses. i assumed that the vehicle wasn't thinking add tried to force it to think. since that didn't work i have no idea what the problem could be.
as for the vehicle falling on top of you, that shouldn't happen as i recompiled the model to remove the enter hitboxes, you did re download the models and vehiclelist.cfg didn't you?
i don't see why it works in some games and not others, they're all on the same engine so use the same code for vehicles.
i knew i should have just stuck with what i knew and added just the css tag to the plugin.

i fixed the link in the first post.
snipercup when you get in the vehicle does the engine start up, it should make a sound. also if i add a modified version to my next post, which will dump some debug info to the console would you try it for me?

i was looking for this thread in new plugins and couldn't find it, wondered where it went, lol thanks for the approve berni.

snipercup never mind about the debugging, i thought it would be pointless as we'd be here forever sending info back and forth. i decided to reinstall tf2 and just deal with its issues, after waiting 20 mins of loading the game and map (... atleast it didn't crash my pc like it does most of the time) i was finally in and did all the tests myself. all the data i checked is exactly the same as css but the vehicle just doesn't seem to respond the key presses, something somewhere is blocking it from being sent to the vehicle.

for now i can't think of anything else to do as i've spent way too many hours just staring at the vehicle code in the sdk with no results. if you want i can update the previous version that uses prop_vehicle and add some basic sounds on key press.

Hey Blodia, if you ever revisit either the airboat or the buggy models, could you add these attachments?

vehicle_3rd
light_fr
light_fl
light_front
light_rear

vehicle_3rd is an attachment point maybe around 200 units behind the vehicle. It allows for toggling between first and 3rd-person-view while driving. Set this as its rotation: -0 -0 -90

light_fr and light_fl are for the headlights on the dune buggy. Don't rotate them. The airboat has only 1 front light so give it light_front instead. You stick these directly in front of the center of the lights, only about an inch or 2 in front.

light_rear is for the brake light on the dune buggy. The airboat has no brake lights so don't do this for it. Stick this an inch or two behind the rear light on the buggy. Give it this rotation: 0 -180 -180


Oh, if you want I can also give you a rotated valve skeleton in a seated position if you want to use it for a visible driver. More skins would also be nice. I can do that too if you want.
