Back in the 2008 when SM was still in beta, I've created a plugin that adds money system to TF2. This plugin has KeyValues and MySQL backend. Now I'm looking for a ways to strip reusable code from it and to release it as inc's. So I've got an idea to create a library for managing permanent storage of data associated with clients. However, there is now a ClientPrefs extension. But it has one drawback: it operates only on strings. So in order to save any other data, you have to convert it to string and vice versa. So I have an idea to delete KeyValues (it has proven too laggy), refine MySQL, add ClientPrefs backend and add convenient functions to store all basic types. However, I doubt there is any need in this library while there is ClientPrefs itself.

Thoughts?

It's simple:
Improve clientprefs.

Do you mean to file a bug report to SM devs?

Well, eventually yes. I was proposing you work on improving clientprefs with the ideas you had and publishing that as a patch.

I've wanted to create a set of SourcePawn functions.
