Auto simply allows the director to place the special infected where he thinks it should spawn.

This is a great plug-in for coop. There is no reason to use z_spawn anymore when you can use this. However, it would be nice to see a similar version made for Versus or have this plug-in extended to include Versus. As some know, this method works except that players on the Infected team become that which is spawned.

The problem is for versus is that Valve implemented a system where if a player disconnects, spectates or loses control of the infected bot for whatever reason, the bot is kicked or killed.

The only way to get around this is by increasing z_max_player_zombies...unless someone can make another workaround.

And preventing a player from taking over an infected bot is possible. I only wanted to preserve the original function of z_spawn.

All you need now is the bypass for with another mod that would replace the director, but still act like a director without changing the spawn times or conditions.

Is there anyway to bind the command to a key?
I tried using bind "key" But cant

This is what you want.
bind "ANYKEY" "sm_ibspawn hunter"
or like this, not sure never used this plugin before(the first bind should work though).
bind "ANYKEY" "sm_ibspawn <hunter>"
ANYKEY refering to whatever key you choose
<hunter|smoker|boomer|spitter|charger|jocke y> <auto> <ragdoll> <area>
Hope this helps.....you can put this into console or autoexec.cfg or a custombind config file

He has another plugin called infectedbots control or something, try that. It worked for me, BUT, it messes with the directors original spawning in very fundamental and displeasing ways. For instance, every SI spawned with that plugin has a set lifetime, and they can disappear right in front of you when that timer is up. Sure, the timer can be changed, but that is not how the director works, the director doesn't despawn things WHILE they are attacking you, etc. I know that much.

i'm currently waiting fora response about this. I need more SI on my server too :/ as do many.

EDIT: I still use this just for messing around and spawning bots, but if you want an automated SI bot spawner, look into monster bots. It spawns them using the director on a set time interval, very useful for servers with more than 4 survivors.
