Sorry if this is in the wrong section, Alright heres the story.
I recently reinstalled windows and installed counter strike source.
Before I was a speed demon with bunnyhoping.. But i can't even gain speed on bhop servers, is there setting I need? I remember once i had to set some settings.. rate 30000 or somthing.
Thanks in advance

Depends on the servers tickrate.

100 tick:
cl_cmdrate 100 or 101
cl_updaterate 100 or 101
rate 30000

66 tick:
cl_cmdrate 66
cl_updaterate 66
rate 30000

Your 'rate' can be adjusted as you see fit. Typically a value from 20-30k is efficient though.

I also suggest to others capping your FPS to get a more consistent jump pattern. Having your fps uncapped can cause your timing to be off when your fps drops or increases due to map performance. I personally use a max of 60fps on 100 tick servers. My card can push around 200fps, but it's too inconsistent to keep timing fluid. Capping at a lower number, but not low enough to ruin timing, helps a ton with keeping consistency.

You can use 'net_graph 3' (or the others) to determine the tick rate of the server based on the values seen with 'in'. You should see something such as:

Code:
fps: 200 ping: 15 ms
in : 82 1024 k/s 100.1/s
out: 85 2033 k/s 100.2/s
loss: 0 choke: 0
The value all the way to the right on the line with 'in' can help you determine the tickrate of the server. (Keep in mind the value can display incorrect information based on settings regardless if the server is set to 100 tick.)

Yesterday's update completely disabled bunnyhopping unless the server has sv_enablebunnyhopping 1.

BTW, servers with the ConVar enabled are auto-tagged "bunnyhop", so you can filter them.

No it didn't. The new sv_enablebunnybhopping cvar does nothing but adds a tag to your servers information in the server list. It does not effect the game play of the game at all.

You haven't played on new servers, have you? You can bhop, but you don't build speed, it's the same speed of running.

Well for the record some of us find bunny-hopping to be extremely annoying. Some think it's "kewl" but it also makes you harder to hit and afaic it is a hack because it gives you an unfair advantage. If it was something you're supposed to be able to do in the game, you wouldn't need to run special scripts or outright hacks to do it. So I'm glad there are ways to combat it on a server.

I run a bhop server, I've tested it.

Edit:: Odd; just tested it again on a bare installed server and it does alter the timing between jumps to prevent acceleration. But, on the live bhop server it didn't do anything. Wonder if a plugin was interfering.

You don't have to run special scripts or outright hacks to do it, you can even bhop using the space key if you want. Counter-Strike grew on these gameplay "bugs", and now Valve is trying to make things equal for all players.
