[L4D2] Karma Charge

    Props to Zed Time, because it showed how Slow Motion could be used in L4D2.



    This Plugin checks Charger Victims for being carried over really high edges...


    If such a case is found, there is a Slowmotion effect on the server, a Sound is played, and a chat notification depicts Chargers glory.

    Convars:

    l4d2_karma_charge_version
    l4d2_karma_charge_height (default 475) - what height triggers Karma Charges
    l4d2_karma_charge_slowtime (default 1.5) - how long does Slowmotion last
    l4d2_karma_charge_enabled - toggle on/off
    l4d2_karma_charge_notify (default 1) - toggle chat announcement in server mode
    l4d2_karma_charge_slowmode (default 0) - toggle entire server going slow motion [0] or just the charger and victim being slowed [1]

    Version History:
    1.0.0 - release
    1.0.1 - added Notification and Mode Switch convars
    1.0.2 - small invalid charger victim fix
    1.0.3 - another invalid entity fix
    1.0.4 - GetEntProp memory check?
    1.0.5 - "pair" mode now announces aswell, victim gets announced
    1.0.6 - bugfix for rare Charger Slowdown death
    1.0.7 - OnMapStart wipe to limit timer handle errors.

    Love the sound you picked.
    I wonder what percentage of sound is not even used in l4d2, 'cause it seems they don't use much of it.

    Edit: The other ppl see the charge in slow motion but they don't get slowed down themselves? Thats what I ment.

    If it only usesheight to check for instant kill charges then I guess this will only work on Dead Center on the Hotel and Mall maps. Would you be able to add checks for instant death kills at water edges in the WaterFront in Parish, Hard Raind and Swamp Fever please?

    You can't force slow motion on some clients and not on others, it would make the game go completely out of sync.

    It would not. A charge by this plugin will kill the victim to almost 100 %. It would not effect the game play, only the charge that lead to a death. Sucks that you can't make the charger and the survivor get the slowmotion while the other people sees it, but does not feel it.
