Nice, thanks for the "tutorial" Ferret. That really helped me out in understanding sourcepawn. Now to go write my own plugins lol.

Lol at me being a noob back then. If this isn't an example of how possible it is to get somewhere when you try, I don't know what is. I went from absolutely no knowledge of pawn or sourcepawn, and now I'm a SM developer.

All it takes man, All it takes. Alot of the syntax isn't that dissimilar from Java, which is what I learned to program in. So it made alot of sense hehe when I looked at it. Of Course the Commenting in the code helps out alot too.

i had just started to learn sourcepawn myself, its quite confusing when going between php and sourcepawn for coding (i am an web designer for a radio station). I decided to start learning how to create my own mod for TF2 after some unfortunate chain of poorly handled incidents landed me a ban from my favorite modded server (hi naris! lol).

So with that, i set out to try and recreate what naris has done (inventing my own wheel to compete with naris's sourcecraft mod.)

Now, i have quite a bit of working knowledge of php, but very little of other languages, so trying to make this sourcemod stuff working has been quite a pain. but through examples, hard work, and patience at least things start to fall into place.

Perhaps after some time, i'll be skilled enough to consider something i work on as suitable for the public (i've always been big on open-source, so anything i've created in the past, present or future is always publicly available.)

so who knows, maybe in a years time, you'll see some of us other noobs getting into the sourcemod development teams to help me SM the best (not that it isn't already there)

Everything could use Improvement. Even SourceMod. That's why it is being Actively developed =P And I'm sure the Sourcemod team would love to have more people on it to help them work on Sourcemod. I've started to study Sourcepawn because it offers a more flexible solution for the servers my Clan runs. Wewt! Sourcemod Forever!

Also, While you are at it, You might want to look at Java and Javascript. I've noticed a definate Similarity between Sourcepawn and those languages. Besides, Being a web developer I'm sure knowing Java would be good for you to have under your belt

So... I am 100% new to all forms of coding, unless you count BASIC which is pretty much no help here. I think I have most of it figured out but im a bit confused as to what %(letters) mean such as
HTML Code:
SetMenuTitle(hMapVoteMenu, "%t", "Rock The Vote");
or
HTML Code:
LogAction(client, -1, "%L triggered sm_psay to %L (text %s)", client, target, message)
What do the %L and %t mean?

Please don't reopen old threads to ask unrelated questions - it's been nearly two years since anyone posted here.

A guide to using format specifiers can be found here: http://wiki.alliedmods.net/Format_Class_Functions_(SourceMod_Scripting)
