I have no clue as how to do it in small yet but try changing the way to think about it, instead of trying to remove characters in the beginning of the string, try "saving" the rest of the characters in the string that you need, and throw away the original string.

Tried it, but, someone else came up with a better idea, with a for loop.

Hmm... but I suspect a stringcopy might be a lot faster since small is an interpreting language.. kind of.

But, as long as it works out ok I guess =)
