I tried to install a amx plugin, its called
Mysql Ban Management for STEAM sqlban.sma.
I compiled it under amxx mod with no errors and installed it

When I try to ban a person I get

[AMX][SQLBAN] Successfully connected to the database.
[AMX][SQLBAN] Checking if houtwurm is in the databaase.
[AMX][SQLBAN] MYSQL error: MySQL server has gone away

When a player connects its checks the database and I get

[AMX][SQLBAN] MYSQL error: MySQL server has gone away

The Sql server runs on the same server as my CS.

I even tried amxbans_v20, but I get 26 compile errors.

Can these plugins be used with amxx, If not are there amxx plugins that can ban people to a sql database ?

Your best bet is to ask this question in the Plugins threads associated with the plugin... that way your sure the author (if he is supporting the plugin) will see it...

There's an excellent banning / admin system that we're using at the moment that was written for amxmod. I've contacted the developer to ask whether he has any plans to port it over to amxmodx.

This is the only thing holding us back from upgrading to amxmodx at the moment.

I just reread the original post, Exterminator mentioned the AMX Bans 2.0 plugin. Well, I'll let you know if I hear anything back from the developer regarding this. I can truly say its one of the best server ban management plugins out there right now.

Keep you posted.

I hear YoMama/Lux is going to port all their plugins to amxmodx soon so i guess you'll just have to wait. AMXbans 2.0 looks pretty good i'll be sure to try it out when its ported.
