This seems like a simple problem, and it might be, I could just be missing something. In the dedicated server folder, in the motd.txt file for the welcome menu, there is a line of code that says:

Code:
<body scroll="no">
I changed this to "yes" instead, since my rules for the server are kind of long, but it still won't scroll. Anyone know how to fix this? Thanks.

Create your motd as an html file on put it on your website. In your motd.txt file, put the link to it.

example motd.txt contents

Why make the person have to click a link? they already don't look at the god forsaken MOTD, so why waste their time.

Do as he says, put it as an .html file and put it on a website, even geocities will work. Long as it's hosted. then in motd.txt, put this:

<html>
<body>
<meta http-equiv="refresh" content="0;url=http://my.url.to/my/webpage.html">
</body></html>

And that will find the file, and load it onto the MOTD. you have unlimited space to show with the MOTD, instead of the normal 2056 characters or whatever it is. And it's easier since you can use php and such.

Why don't you try what I said first before you add alot of excess code for no reason? What I told him to do will display the page, not a link. Thank you for adding alot of crap for no reason.

No, it really won't. IT will show a link to nothing, as your not executing any CODE on it to MOVE to that webpage.

And how much extra code is that? IT's one line of code, and it's not as though he has to do SOOO much himself. He has to change the url, copy, and paste it. Oh wow. Rocket scientist here!

Do me a favor. Try to do what I said and see if it works. If it does, you can quietly go on and pretend to know everything. If it does not, feel free to come back and rant about it. The simplest way can be the best way. You do not need to use rocket science to fix every problem.

Now, Now...Both of you are right ;)

As slurpy said fidelity, it is possible to just add a link to the motd. If there is no other lines or code on the page, the game will automatically make the linked webpage what is displayed as the motd. (Great for the lazy people) Personally, I would much rather have the meta-refresh.

Reference Link: Click Here

Also, another way to do it, is with an <iframe>. So as you guys can see, there are plenty of ways you can do it. There isn't any reason to have a nice little argument about it...
