I dunno, the windows binaries should use less CPU.

Oh oh...

Try updating the server.

If your on linux, you obviously rebuilt your kernal for 1000fps and need to rebuild it again for lower fps.

If your on windows all you need to do is the command listed above.

sys_ticrate <fps>
fps_max <fps>
What should be done to the Kernel to get it run for 1000 FPS?

If it's on 2.6 then it's already at 1000. FPS IS NEVER STABLE.

HNS( with blocks), 12 slot server uses up to 70% cpu...
So, if you dont like it. Delete blocks/server. Nothing to do...
20% for 20 slot public is good

Depends about what engine you are talking about. If you use source, you can easily get 1000FPS constant if you have the right configuration and hardware. Same thing can be done with HL1 engine servers, get the right config, right hardware and bandwidth, and you should be good to go. Your fps will spike within the range of 10 units.

As for the the thread, RaMMz, for a Core2Duo that kind of CPU usage is fine. With enough ram, your processor can host 2 full 32 slot servers at 200-300 fps.

You are free to give us a clue to configure better the servers

It always depends on the hardware, Ram, bandwidth. I can not give you perfect or any configuration because I do not have access to your machine. You always need to play around with it and find what is best for your setup. It depends on everything, the number of slots, addons used, bandwidth, hardware (have mentioned that before).

bluechester, what are you talking about? FPS will never be stable. You'll always have jitter whatever hardware you're running and no matter how 'right' you think your configuration is. Even with a usleep of 100,000+ it'll never be consistent. It doesn't matter what engine you're using too.
