It depends on which text editor you're using.
For example, nergal abrandnewday has been hard at work creating a Notepad++ syntax highlighter that I think is 100% compliant with 1.7 (which you can find in Snippets and Tutorials).
I also have a package for Atom which has some transitional syntax support (I'll be fleshing it out once I start using the new syntax)-also in Snippets and Tutorials.

I don't think there's ever been a Textmate bundle, and not sure about Sublime's.
