But to answer your question, an entity is the same as the word means in real life. It can be an object, physical or non-physical, containing properties that can affect gameplay or be the gameplay. For instance, your bedroom is the map but you are an entity in it, as is your moving chair and your mirror. Your bed could be a separate entity, but often they are built into the map for efficiency purposes as fewer entities often provides less cramped gameplay.
