Hello,
I just wrote a small plugin which should block advertisements pretty effective and isn't bloated with hundreds of lines or configuration files. Couldn't find any plugin doing it that way, so I quickly wrote it.

Any URLs and/or IP addresses get blocked, messages from admins will be ignored.

Installation is as usual, download the AMXX-file or compile locally, put it in amxmodx/plugins and edit configs/plugins.ini.

Would be nice if you could replace the ip with **.**.**.** and maybe whitelist?

What about cvars to control if admins are ignored, or whitelist (like xPaw), or replacements (like xPaw), or punishments?

Well the goal is imo that people don't get bothered at all with such messages, so they get blocked.

Yeah, server-related links shouldn't be blocked. Insofar I would propose creating a string-array in the beginning, and the user can define his URLs there for minimum configuration effort?

replacements
Don't see that usefull for an anti-ad plugin, maybe for a swear filter, but the goal for spam messages is a block, not a replacement.

punishments
That might be a good addition, but I can't really imagine people continuing advertising when seeing it gets blocked, and additionally no one gets bothered by it.

Would be better to read from a file.

That's just your opinion.
I would rather see what the player said with the spam replaced with X's or something.

Some server administrators are strict on advertisement, and want punishment instead of blocking.

You need to remember that when you release a plugin, it is to be for the people and what needs they might have for the plugin.

Let's get some seconds before ordering changes based on personal preferences. Everyone else seems content and happy with it the way it is.

I think it would be nice if it blocked gameserver advertisements as well, though.

There were no single order/requirements, just whishes, because approvers are also members ;)

If i do : say "............................................ ....................http://forums.alliedmods.net/forumdisplay.php?f=26"

Plugin won't detect url.

- The plugin is less than 1 day old. How can you expect for everyone to have seen it already and assume they all approve of it?
- In my experience, plugins whose authors are not open to changing/adding to his/her plugin to meet suggestions of the people is less likely to be approved.
- Am I not a member of this forum? Do I not have a voice to ask what I would like in a plugin?
- A plugin that meets the majority's personal preferences is a plugin that fits everyone, which is better than only for a few people.
- It's not like the features I requested were outrageous. You can find them in any of the other anti-spam plugins.

Instead of basically saying "stop suggesting" you should've said why my suggestions were unnecessary.
