br5dy, thanks for your continued work to improve the program. Its odd for a CSS admin to now look forward to a Valve update... who new it could be this much fun. This brings up the inevitable when Valve does eventually update they usually break the servers. Will your program stop the servers if an infinite loop of start stop happens?

This plugin doesn't autoupdate the server, his program does. His program only detects if a file is created by the plugin when the server needs updating then updates it with the program. That's where this plugin comes into play, you should only use this plugin if you plan to use the program as well so your plugin is still out of the loop klausenbusk.

Also, i can verify that both the plugin and program work for windows and i think it's awesome. Thanks for the work.

also no player count check. playing a competitive match and having the server restart midgame - not so nice, even with a warning.

so, this is pretty much a bad rip off and it would have been much nicer to use the already existing 'outdated do' plugin (which is pretty badly named though).

Its free, you should be banned for being so rude. Want one that meets your standards? Find a coder and pay them the big bucks. Put your money to where your mouth is.

No, but I will add this feature on the next release. In fact, I'll probably set it up so it can e-mail/text you if this happens.

A player count would be a good feature, but at some point the server would need updating because incoming players would not be able to connect so the server would slowly die in population. However, I'm open to suggestions on how to approach this situation. cvar?

As far as the question of "rip", consider the following:
    • Both were created using the only known scripting method to detect an update
    • Both use the SteamTools extension with the same function call (and the only one available to detect an available update)
    • SRCDSAdmin warns players before shutting down the server, "Outdated Do" does not warn players
    • SRCDSAdmin has few cvars, the "Outdated Do" plugin has many cvars
    • SRCDSAdmin and "Outdated Do" create a file for detection, the file each creates is not the same name
    • SRCDSAdmin works with the Windows application, SRCDS Admin, "Outdated Do" does not have an application tied to it
    • SRCDSAdmin has a name that makes sense, "Outdated Do" does not make sense
I found a few flaws with the plugin. I'll be releasing an update within the next couple of days.
