Chance of False Positive

Is there any chance at all for a convar violation of sv_cheats being a false positive?

Well this thread title certainly made me nervous. Unless you had an admin rapidly toggling sv_cheats on the server, then it was a correct detection. I'm pretty sure even that example was fixed a long time ago.

Yeah sorry for the misleading title.

I ask because I had a new member get detected and swears up and down he didn't do it and doesn't know what that is.

Yeah, they all say that. I remember one guy who protested his ban on my server many months ago. He had the nerve to say the demos I provided looked clean and I should take a closer look at them. The demos were of him aimboting/spin hacking/speed hacking/etc (real blatant stuff).

A lot of these guys practically have a routine from getting banned so much. They'll make up some of the most elaborately thought out nonsensical stories you'll ever hear (frequently featuring their cousin/parents/brother/nephew/cat/logitech 135345034x0f9gdj mouse/etc).

I agree with you, but lets face the fact that sometimes smac will fuck up.
I was banned from my own server, and spoke to tony and he fixed the issue.
It was a eytest problem, just pointing it out, to the new members, if you see something that you think is wrong please post it, cause sometimes there are errors, and false bans.
