hey people!

i ported "RulesAgreement 0.2 by ST4life" to amxx as someone requested it and now i'm using it myself!
so i thought i'd post it!

Quote:
"RulesAgreement" is a plugin to ask players on connect if they agree with your serverrules.
If not, they will be kicked, otherwise they can play on server.
You can define a text that is shown!
by adding 2 text-files to your "addons/amxx/custom/" folder on the server
you can customize the texts!

(CHMOD 777 the "custom" folder!)

ra_rulesindex.txt which contains the text the menu shows!
ra_rules.txt which contains the rules in the motd-window.

I uploaded 2 version:
one version for CS and STEAM
and one version for WON, as CS on WON is the only mod (as far as i know) that can have colours in onscreen-menus.
i removed the colour code for the general won-version, so it works
fine with DoD1.0.

download "CS and STEAM version" for CS on WON and all steam-mods
or
download "WON version" for DoD1.0 and other non-steam mods!

enjoy!

Were you able to optimize this plugin at all or is this just a port. This plugin requires you to fairly often delete the log file or creates big server lag everytime someone new connects.

Vic/DT

I stopped using it for AMX for this major problem...

i haven't otimized it, just ported.

here's the deal will the log-file:
place
Code:
amx_ra_eraselog
into your server.cfg
and the logfile will be deleted on every mapchange.

to the lag:
i'm not experiencing any lag on my DoD 1.0 (won) server.

Dude, of course your not your not getting lag but your log is now worthless... your "fix" is also making the plugin worthless man. Why would I want my users to agree at every mapchange ? It's annoying enough sometime that it doesn't show immediately... Understand what I am saying man ? I tweaked the code on my rules plugin to announce when folks join, it's just as effective and way less intrusive. I prefer to only delete the log when a rule has been modified and I want folks to reread the rules

1.) it was just a suggestion because you're "whining" about the big log-file.
i don't have a problem with the logfile and i haven't placed the remove
command into my server.cfg.

2.) i'm not getting any lag because my servers are in a data center with 100mbit connection and not just a home pc.
just don't use that plugin on a hlds that you set up on a weak connection.

by the way, i just placed
Code:
amx_ra_eraselog
into my server.cfg and i was wrong,
it's not deleting the log on mapchange,
the log is only deleted on server restart.

but, you're right, not that usefull either.

If your deleting the logs you know of the problem as well. Until this is coded to optimize the log file it will create the problem. I run a dedicated Linux server and gave up on this plugin because of it's flaws... working around them and making claims about it being a server issue are not smart nor accurate. The plugin has potential or neither of us would have run it... like any vault file it needs to be optimized a bit to be effective when it gets bigger...
