I am looking to script a plugin that will make kills in DoD:S more realistic in that some time after dying, the victim will pool blood directly under them. Does anybody know where i would start with this?

It would be possible, but the problem is that day of defeat render's ragdolls (player bodies) on client side.

So for instance for one player the body could be 100 feet away from where someone else sees the body. Then the best you can do on the serverside is place the pool of blood at the point of death, and hope the ragdoll wasn't pushed by an explosive or some other velocity.

(I think it may be also possible to force server side ragdoll calculations, but the server cpu will take a big hit)

Youd probably have to make a model for it....I dont know how else. or custom particle/sprite...

In other words, youre gonna be in for A LOT of work for some small little visual effect....
