Server is started on port 27040

After some time, the server throws players, changes to port 27040+1. New port becomes 27041.

Afterwards he was again seen, and it can play.

What is it and how to avoid it?

I do not know. I tried to update all files, nothing helps.

"throws players"?

'status' in console shows what you say? and 'stats' uptime does not reset?
does it throw players again and goto 27042 ?

I left the server per day from port 27015 to 27019 is a mockery

Server loses connection with the players.

For the players it seems to crash the server.

However, the server simply moves to another port.

This is evident in the names of logs (see jpg).

Meta launched without sm. No problem.

Once you turn sm, server after a while changing the port.

SM tried last 1.5, new stable branch and the last 1.6, development branch.

Total - port problem depends on the SM

-strictportbind - If you launch the game with this option it will quit with an error message if it can't bind to the default or specified port.

anyway, I assume your server is crashing and stay on background, keeping ports.
You could try this launch parameter.
-nocrashdialog - Suppresses some 'memory could not be read' unhandled errors.


And about upgrading MM:S and SM, make sure you not running those mods while you upload files.

- move metamod.vdf file out from ...addons/ folder, reboot your server.
there should not run mm:s and sm anymore, check by yourself, rcon plugin_print
- Get released version of MM:S, extract and upload all files, overwriting them. (Note, mm:s pack include also metamod.vdf, don't upload that yet)
- Get latest Snapshot of SM 1.5.X, extract and upload these folders with all content, overwriting all files:
  • bin
  • extensions
  • gamedata
  • plugins
  • translations
- Move metamod.vdf file back to ...addons/ folder, and reboot server.
Wait couple minutes when server is up, SM could maybe now download newest gamedata files. Again reboot.

Above just fix SM base extension + plugins.
NOT 3rd party extensions + plugins maded by other developers.
These maybe have own gamedata files, maybe outdated or just bad maded plugin.

If your server still crashing, you should move most non-sourcemod-base plugins into ...disabled/ folder and take a look again.
Then add back one by one, which one is causing. This is very slow progress but works.
