After about 30 seconds of playing this update, I think I realized why valve globbed every other change into the one vague statement: "Various other improvements".

I'd have to say this is a pretty bad update, it's up there with other classic features I liked:
CS 1.1, Sniper scopes removed
CS 1.4/5+ Jumping botched
CS 1.6 The bad font and silly sprites
This update - even worse sprites (headshot one), the final blow to my favorite weapon (AWP), ... and... what did they do to the crosshairs?

An update hasn't made me this mad since the one that removed jumping.... but I suppose I'll get over it.

I havent got a big chance to play with the new STEAM update yet but I noticed right away a big gray box on the menu selection screen.

IS there a full change log somewhere?

Tried to update my server yesterday, well that was completely impossible, but it worked today. I have yet to try this new stuff out though, but I like the new motd windows

Let's hope they didn't touch any of the offsets or made any other bad changes modwise...

Lol, BAILOPAN, taking matters into your own hands? What are you gonna do, re-model CS completely?

....No, really, would you?

I haven't been able to start/update steam since the last update but according to some reports those changes to AWP (gay delay?) and a huge crosshair have to be very bad ... Hope valve reflects people's opinions

BTW: Most pro's play a very fast paced awp and I suppose they wont be happy about the awp change or the monstronous crosshairs, too.

The delay seems to affect even scout (I tested this, and think it's bad, I chose scout over awm any day) and maybe also the other snipers (didnt test).

But to be honest, I don't care about that. To me AWM has always been lame weapon #1, designed for new players to quickly get into the game. And to that, add what the more experienced players what they can do with a weapon like that. It's just too easy to have a frag fest with AWM since it kills with only one hit. And to think it really did kill with one shot at feet in the early versions of CS...

So it seems Valve really did listen to their customers this time. :-)
