I am trying to do this first time with Windows. It always works with Linux....

Anywhos, I downloaded hldsupdatetool.exe from Steampowered and installed it into "d:\Valve\Hlserver"

Now I am in the command prompt, and have typed:

"D:\Valve\HLserver\hldsupdatetool.exe -command update -game cstrike -dir d:\valve\"

It says that the directory already exists, and that's why it can't run.

EDIT: Doh! Tried changing "-dir d:\valve\" to "-dir ." and it worked

how come you put it in d:\ just curious why not c:\?

C:\ is my Windows drive, limited with only 12 Gb of space.

The rest space (168 Gb) is divided between the Linux-drive and the "d:\" drive, which has all my files in it.
