register_event is called when the game dll is sends a message (using MESSAGE_BEGIN, WRITE_*, MESSAGE_END) like ResetHUD to the client. register_logevent is called when something is written to HL logs...

So, register_logevent work like text filter.
When text in log and filter are equal, register_logevent call function.
Therefore, using register_logevent may result in a mistake if in log the similar information will be writing.

Please, confirm my guesses.
