Okay so im very new to this server business and SM stuff and I would like to make myself an admin on my server with all powers. I used my steam id and 99:z when registering myself as admin with sm. I do have a lot of admin powers but when it comes to activating certain commands such as sv_cheats while in-game, it wont let me =( I can activate it through HLSW only >.< What should I do to give myself the power? Also is there a way to login with rcon while ingame? whenever i try it either doesnt do anything or i get perma banned for attempted hacking lol.

Game is Left 4 Dead.

Use sm_rcon like Lebson506th said. It does work. If you're getting SM access errors, you probably have to go RTFW.

maybe i dont understand exactly what rcon is supposed to do but here is a copy and paste from my console to show ya how im doing things.

Can't change replicated ConVar sv_cheats from console of client, only server operator can change its value

Edit: okay scratch all that i finally got it to work ingame using "sm_cvar sv_cheats 1"

ok so you would do

rcon_password cheeman666999
rcon sv_cheats 1

You only need to set the rcon_password once (or even just put that line in your autoexec.cfg).
Also just as a tip - don't post your rcon password on a forum

Also alternatively with sm_rcon you just need to do:

sm_rcon sv_cheats 1

without setting the rcon password
