Hello dear users and administration of AlliedModders. Not knowing where to create themes, I am creating this theme here to understand the essence of the "SourceMod" plugin license. The point is that there is a Harry Potter user who updates and sells other people's plugins
[L4D2] Noxious Smoker Mortiegrama
https://github.com/fbef0102/Game-Pri...2_smoker_toxic
[L4D2] Destructive Hunter by Moritegama
https://github.com/fbef0102/Game-Pri...er_destructive
[L4D2] Sinister Jockey by Mortiegrama
https://github.com/fbef0102/Game-Pri...inister_Jockey
[L4D2] Spitter SuperGirl by Mortiegrama
https://github.com/fbef0102/Game-Pri...tter_Supergirl
[L4D2] Unstoappble Charger by Mortiegrama
https://github.com/fbef0102/Game-Pri...er_unstoppable
[L4D] Psychotic Witch by Mortiegrama
https://github.com/fbef0102/Game-Pri...er_unstoppable
[L4D1/2] Flashlight by Silvers
https://github.com/fbef0102/Game-Pri...light_speconly
[L4D2] Bot Healing Values by Silvers
https://github.com/fbef0102/Game-Pri...4d_bot_healing
[L4D2] Tank Healing Field by Enercio
https://github.com/fbef0102/Game-Pri..._healing_field
[L4D2] Fortnite Emotes & Dances by Francisco
https://github.com/fbef0102/Game-Pri...ces_emotes_l4d

The point is that this is not the entire list of such plugins sold by Harry Potter
The same plugin Scripted HUD by Marttt
https://github.com/fbef0102/Game-Pri...2_scripted_hud

The funny thing is, he sells other people's plugins that he has updated for $8 or more, which suggests that Harry Potter makes money from other people's work. The entire list of private plugins can be found here

https://github.com/fbef0102/Game-Pri...readme-ov-file

So, I repeat. This person makes money from the work of others and I want to know: Is updating and selling other people's plugins as your own a violation of the SourceMod plugins license?
P.S-If the topic is in the wrong place, please move it

There is a saying that, GPL is allowed for secondary creation, and only required open source to users, not always to the public. it's in accord with the license

"You are allowed to sell copies of the modified program commercially, but only under the terms of the GNU GPL. Thus, for instance, you must make the source code available to the users of the program as described in the GPL, and they must be allowed to redistribute and modify it as described in the GPL.."

Have you read that he doesn’t allow you to distribute purchased sources?)

you can distribute purchased sources, and he will stop after-sales service and new deals with you. it's not conflict with GPL.

As for me, this rule is absurd. Because this is nothing more than making money on someone else’s work. For example, in the l4d_zoom_level plugin, he supposedly updated it and made it new, but in fact the author already did it
https://github.com/fbef0102/Game-Pri...4d2_zoom_level

The same Silvers plugin with Marttt that I provided above. Harry Potter in l4d_spectate_flashlight_only simply took the code from the Flashlight plugin by Silvers to highlight spectators and that’s it. This is essentially,Harry Potter passed off this code as his plugin, but it’s not true

What we have been doing for years for free, updating, correcting other people's plugins and publishing them in the themes of the corresponding plugins, Harry Potter sells and earns from it. I understand if these plugins were Harry Potter's original ideas and he was selling them. But when he earns money from other people's ideas and code, it is, at least, unfair to the original authors of the plugins.
