OK guys, im moving server locations but I all server data will be lost. Instead of spending 7 hours to reinstall/set up the server again, is it possible to just download the entire server and upload it to a new server?

I think I tried this once and it didn't work, I think each csgo server has a few unique files that can't be moved or tied to a specific IP?

first thing that comes to my mind is rsync.... it makes much more sence to just download the server to your new server and cut out the middleman (yourself) either way...

You'll need only some files/folders such as

addons
cfg
models (you only need custom models, not have to copy entire folder)
materials (you only need custom models, not have to copy entire folder)
sound (you only need custom sound, not have to copy entire folder)
maps (you only need custom maps, not have to copy entire folder)
and
GameModes_Server.txt if you use it.

When you move new host, install fresh server, put all files you copy from old server, and you good to go

And choos skip not ovewrite!!! I do that years so and got never a problem.

Amroth may have your best answer of just picking up the entire addons folder, cfg, models, materials, sound, map, etc.

There is no need to copy the core files; assuming you are running SM.

i am currently negotiating with end of reality

i have my sm folder tracked in a git repository where everything is tracked, even binary files. The servers will individually pull every set interval (weekly)

I have yet to run into problems. Been doing this for 2 months so far to ensure configuration across my servers are the same
