From what I've read, you can compile Mono from source and install it in your home directory; that being said, Linux is completely unsupported by SLRS, because its logging engine probably needs to be modified slightly to handle different path separators. If someone is really interested in running the daemon on Linux, feel free to send me a PM and I'll see what I can do to make it work.
