Anyway, fakemeta's register_forward, engfunc and dllfunc is pretty much what you do with Metamod (hence the name "fakemeta"). You will need engine knowledge after all.

What are you actually trying to do? Stick with AMXX plugins unless you absolutely have to write a Metamod plugin. Or are you trying to write an AMXX module? Because that has whole other API next to Metamod's.
