Well, let's see, the damage CVAR tells how much damage the disk does, each time it touches you. And well since it takes some time to fully go through an opponent, the touch function gets called multiple times, often stacking up the damage, thus it does more damage. Just set the damage low, or set the speed of the disk to be faster, to do less damage on average.
