fysiks, it's not that simple.

basically a sprite is a set of different pictures that do the animation.

You need any 8 bit BMP picture editor.
photoshop, the gimp, Paint.NET... should do the trick.

Then you need a BMP assembler, that can create sprite with HL properties.
The only one i know and the one everyone use is Sprite Explorer 2.12
