I've definitely seen it before, from before the Steam client or any valve games were available on linux, so I know I'm not just confusing the two things. But this was a long time ago, so I have no idea if and when it's been updated.

It used to not be wrong, but the last time I looked was before SteamCMD was even a thing. It's possible they've expanded their support since then.
I'm not talking about steamOS. That's completely different. But it got me curious - does anybody even run servers in SteamOS? That seems like a really stupid idea.
