I guess this issue occurs when increasing any commons health. The game has hard coded a number of hits or damage from certain things such as Witch being killed with 4 (or something) melee hits no matter how high the health is. I'll look into fixing at some point if I get time.

Edit: Plugin Common Infected Health - Damage Received to fix melee and explosive damage.
