I think, that when you are slow, than you jump like normal, but if your are fast, than you jump (or pounce) like a hunter.
Maybe therefor the infected are a little unbalanced, because as a boomer you can jump like a hunter, spawn and will get the survivors from many more far away positions like you can reach now. (I hope, you understand what i mean ;) )
