In my opinion, if the plugin's author making the plugin right, it must precache the stuff that the plugin need for itself, and maybe has a download feature as well.
But if there is a big plugin like zombiemod or something else, who need a bunch of stuff to download, and you dont want to take hours to write the text for the download destinations, then you can use this plugin.
