There is no any techinical reason to do it so. It was discussed few time here at AMX X forum. Last time I was trying to explain why it was done so in AMX 2005/6 was written in this topic. BAILOPAN just sometimes doesn't like some methods used in code by other people. I believe he has some reasons for that (even if I don't understand a lot of times his decisions concerning to coding) since he is more experienced and much more advanced in coding.
About that telemenu thing - more than likely - if I'll find some time when CSDM 2.1h beta is out and I'll fix few things in podbot mm, maybe I'll write a custom plugin like telemenu2, which will work with the funcionality AMX 2005/6 it does.
