Tried to use an actual timer this time. I forget which version of FF I had tested with a long time ago, but it's definitely improved since then.
Windows 7 x64
Chrome 27.0.1453.73 beta: 5.5s
Firefox 23.0a1 (2013-05-03): 4.0s
IE 10.0.4: 3.0s
