Is there something wrong with HLSW? When I was on Windows, I used it for Day of Defeat and it worked. Did that change in the last couple years? EDIT: Just got confirmation from a friend that it did indeed stop working. That is unfortunate.

I'm not aware of an alternative but if there is one that runs on Linux also, I'd be interested to know.
