I'm using slackware 12 (soon 13), and I was wondering how to edit the kernel, so that the HLDS support 1000 FPS all the time.

Currently I've edited it so that the Timer Frequency is set to 1000 HZ, I've disabled tickless system and enabled High resolution timer support.
HLDS stays 1000 fps most of the time, but nevertheless it sometimes drops to 600-700.
Is there something else I should change?
