Maybe not?
There's a plugin on a post that aims to directly fix this.
Since that's described to directly help with the rescue problem and I've tested it, it should be better suited than Survivor Character Fixes which aims to fix the normally-unusable-by-vanilla versions of the L4D1 survivors in general.
