Using a timer when he leaves allows the damage/sentry stuff to stay on for that amount of time?
If he is defeated, you could make it stay longer than if he leaves.
Firing a timer for this event works just fine because the settings will all be reverted anyways, but it looks like you went with the addcond ubercharge suggestion.
