Most host providers run MySQL only on localhost and don't allow external connections, do yourself a favor and get a VPS or something :)

If I were you I would install Linux on that server machine. Windows 7 gives so much overhead and a core2duo is not really the latest and fastest anymore.

Yeah either use SCP or firewall your ftp so only your IP is allowed access to it.

I only use SCP with public key authentication, good luck hacking into that ;)

This plugin didn't do anything for me, i.e. it would never spawn uncommon mobs or even trigger the commmand sm_spawnuncommonhorde. So here's a fixed version, tested and works.
