Sorry for the late reply. That should of course not happen. There was a mistake with URL validation that we corrected. You should be able to use the URL now.

If you don't have a community website, you can always specify a steam group URL or alternatively your steam profile URL

As far as we remember, CS:GO did not allow plugins to open the MOTD window whenever they wish.
Players need to manually open it with a button (Correct me if I'm wrong).
