I've used Web Shortcuts with Simple Chat Colors (with chat trigger overrides) for a year with no issues. Make sure the triggers you are using are defined in Simple Chat Colors.

I think that's because you are using Naris' version. I've used the vanilla webshortcuts.smx and have no issues.
