I'm quoting this because it's really really helpful. It also fixed the issue of items not spawning on any initial map load once the server was rebooted.

I fixed my issues with MM and SM. I was brain farting... a lot here. I kept grabbing the windows files (.zip) instead of the linux files (tar.gz). Go figure!

I'm not having any luck either. My friends and I had a L4D1 server and setting up MetaMod and SourceMod on that was a piece of cake. I followed the same instructions and can't get MetaMod to work on...
