It should work as described with custom sounds but it won't work with built in game sounds as the extension can't access files packed into a .vpk file.

Published a small update that should fix the built in game sounds.


I don't run a CS:GO server but others got it working so I think they'll be more helpful on how to set it up for CS:GO.

Your sounds go in the same location as before the Steampipe update.
So in your case the correct location on your server is tf/sound/critfest/admin/

Set up the SteamPipe TF2 server today and the only thing you should be aware of is that pure_server_whitelist.txt has to be in the cfg folder now.

Don't put your sounds files in the download folder on the server.
If they've been put in the download folder during the Steampipe conversion put them back to the sound folder.

You haven't installed the saysoundhe.phrases.txt file to the sourcemod translations folder.

Remove the "actiononly" param from that Karaoke sound in your saysounds.cfg

The "flags" param is optional but if you want to use it you should update the transslation file as well.
All new flags specific cvars default to ""....

Like SonnyCrocket said, for CS:GO just create a custom folder in your sound folder eg sound/saysound/ and place your sounds in it.

Naris added a new cvar for precahing sounds which was introduced in version 4.04.

The cvar defaults to "0" so sounds should only be precached if they're played.

Well there's obviously something wrong with the Windows build of the Soundlib 1.0.1 extension.
Try the attached soundlib 1.0 version which was part of the saysounds 4.0.3 version.

AFAIK Naris added a filter to the Resource Manager so sounds in certain folders won't be added to the Download List.
One of this folders is the misc folder so dont put your sounds into the misc...

Setting sm_saysoundhe_time_between_sounds (for normal users) or sm_saysoundhe_time_between_admin_sounds (for admins) to 0 should do the trick.
