Why reordering the if statements? For readibility reason and it also make the code look nicer and reasonable.

And the last character ( 191 ) must be EOS ( end of string ) which is equal to 0.

The code has been edit try now, btw its not that hard you just have to declare a variable named player outside of the loop or in the initial state of a loop.

You have three types of objects
1.point entities ( player, info_targrt, sprites, etc... )
2. Brush Entities ( func_breakable, glass, door, etc.. (
3. Worldspawn which ID is 0, its not an entity....
