You mean that the plugin cause timeout on clients? I dont think so, I am using it in my servers without problem. You can try to disable the plugin for check if you problem still persist, surely is...

Be sure that you use the latest version? I have this plugin in my servers without problem. You use mysql or sqlite? I am not a msql professional (yet) so maybe the queries can be improve so everybody...
