I found a sorta workaround by uploading the maps directly to the maps folder on the server and referencing them locally, but that had the side-effect of breaking my server's ability to let players...

Looks like the last update to the post was in 2009; is there a newer alternative I should be using instead?

Yes. I have to re-set cv_bumpercar_blockplayerdmg in the console every time the server starts or I change the map. Then it works as desired until the next change.

Is there a way around this??...

I keep setting cv_bumpercar_blockplayerdmg to zero and even tried setting it in the server cfg, but every time a new map starts, bumper cars go back to making players immune to non-bumper car damage

So I've decided to set up a server. I'm using nodecraft.

I've installed several maps by typing 'my_workshop_map_sync [number]' into the console via the nodecraft control panel.
