AMX Mod X is pretty much feature-complete. There isn't more we can do without starting a rewrite of various components. There's no motivation to do this. Modules and plugins can do almost anything.

There will be future versions as long as someone decides to work on it. Right now I personally do not have the time. There's a few outstanding bugs but no one seems to care.

Huh? They're still 32-bit, you don't need 64-bit math to bit bang on 32-bit integers.

No. Valve's 64-bit port died a long time ago, and like none of the past 5 releases were 64-bit... and there's no 64-bit downloads available... so why even ask that question?

sawce made this change expecting minimal compatibility problems, as no functionality is actually broken. Plugins which find this problematic should update to use the appropriate callback.

I'm pleased to announce that we have released AMX Mod X 1.8.1.

This is primarily a bug-fix release, though it has a few feature additions, such as new associative storage natives from sawce.
