The only way i know u could even remotely do what your trying is to set the cvar values u want just before the charger charges...it may or may not work how u intend however. Try it out....i did this...

I do something like this to simulate a non interactive panel in L4D2...while allowing the number keys to still work properly.
Note...using this with a menu your constantly refreshing with a timer...

ok when u said pack i assumed upgrade pack not the actual backpack. Also i'm not even sure why the backpack is dropping....deathdrop cvar only effects actual items dropping when a player dies not...
